THE EL-BORJ RIYAD
This riyad is situated in the "Khasbah" district, 150m from the
Saadian family vaults and 500 m from the famous Djemâa El Fna place (map
enclosed).
This riyad is a real jewel and a stay in such a place will
leave you unforgettable memories.
All the Hispano Moorish decoration themes, whether they are
in earth, in stone, in wood, in chiselled stucco, in ceramic, in pottery or iron
being made by the most skilful Marrakech craftsmen are discretely present in
this riyad and are gathered around a patio garden composed of 4 plant beds which
reminds you of the Muslim style environment in the middle of which this small
palace is erected.
Beyond several rooms with walls and ceilings made of sculpted stucco, the Dar El
Borj has on 3 sides a panoramic solarium terrace which offers an extraordinary
view over the Atlas and the old city roofs.
A shower fountain has been fitted on this solarium terrace.
The access to the riyad is not difficult at all but, being in the centre of the old town, it is not possible to reach it by car. You are in the very heart of the Medina where there is no car.
